Garden grow step up card

Sunday, 15 May 2016
I created this step up for my Mum to give to my Grandma for Mother's Day. This was so much fun to create ☺

I started this card by stamping all the images from the garden grow stamp set by Altenew onto Ranger watercolour paper using archival ink. I then coloured all the images using my Zug kuretake watercolours. I tried to keep the colouring a little rough and messy to match the style of the stamps.

I then sat in front of the TV and fussy cut out all the images. Yes there are matching dies but of course I thought I would use this stamp set to only do one layer cards so I didn't purchase the dies.

To create the sentiment I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Mum and me stamp set onto watercolour paper and then roughly drew around it to make it look lime a sign. I wanted it to match in with the stamp set style. I added dots in all the corners to look like nails.

I then created the step up card. I used papers from the My Favourite Things Tranquil Textures to create the wall and grass. I used a grass die to cut the grass.

Then came the fun part of adding all the elements to the card. I used foam tape on some elements to add dimension and others I glued down flat. Some lime the hanging tools are glued flat at the top and popped up with foam at the bottom.

This has to be my most favourite card that I have made so far. Here are some further images from different angles.

I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is to use flowers.
